Two Latest Sculptures Now Being Molded
Georgia's two most recent sculptures are now in the rubber molding phase. The mold will allow the creation of hollow wax replicas of the clay sculptures. The wax form then goes through the Lost Wax Casting process in the foundry, ending up as a bronze that is nearly identical to the original clay. Since the wax is "lost" in the process, each casting requires a new wax replica - so the rubber molds are used multiple times. Generally, Georgia limits her editions to 15, which means the molds will be used only 15 times and then discarded.
